An Evangelical Manifesto is an open declaration of who Evangelicals are and what they stand for. It has been drafted and published by a representative group of Evangelical leaders who do not claim to speak for all Evangelicals, but who invite all other Evangelicals to stand with them and help clarify what Evangelical means in light of “confusions within and the consternation without” the movement. New Affiliation Established IPHC Ministries is a Charter Member of the newly formed Christian Churches Together in the USA. Thirty-four churches and national Christian organizations, representing over 100 million Americans, have formed the broadest, most inclusive fellowship of Christian churches and traditions in the USA in a gathering at Simpsonwood Conference and Retreat Center near Atlanta, Georgia, March 28 31, 2006. National leaders from five Christian families Evangelical/Pentecostal, Historic Protestant, Historic Racial/Ethnic, Orthodox and Catholic made the historic decision to organize officially as Christian Churches Together in the USA. Its mission is “to enable churches and Christian organizations to grow closer together in Christ in order to strengthen our Christian witness in the world.”
Christian Churches Together provides a context marked by prayer, theological dialogue and fellowship in which churches can develop relationships with other churches with whom they presently have little contact. This is one response to our Lord’s Prayer that all who believe in Him might be one with God and with one another so that the world would believe in Him as God and Savior. CCT, out of its commitment to grow closer together in Christ, can offer a significant and credible voice in speaking to contemporary culture on issues of life, social justice and peace. Holiness Manifesto Published
On February 8, 2006 the third and final meeting of the Wesleyan Holiness Study Project (WHSP) concluded with a gathering of pastors in Pomona, California. The IPHC was one of ten holiness denominations who participated in the study project. The three year project began with the goals of:
articulating a contemporary statement of holiness for the future mission of the Church,
linking denominations with a holiness heritage in re-emphasizing the message,
a published book authored by writers from the participating denominations.
Over two dozen major papers were produced by participants in contributing to the unifying effort. A major outcome was the writing of the HOLINESS MANIFESTO that serves as both a call and statement for unity around this biblical vision for the Church.
